House Checks & Pet Sitter
- Special needs are welcomed, like elderly dogs and cats, or cats and dogs with food allergies or medical conditions;
- I can take care of your cats, dogs, fish and small birds. I am just accepting dogs under thirty pounds;
- I can send daily texts to keep pet parents informed;
- I’ll be a guest in your home and will take care of your place;
- I’ll water your plants, pick up your mail and newspapers;
- Custom Care plans will be followed;
- I’ll provide lots of exercise and stimulation for the pets.

About Nancy
My name is Nancy Fountain and I have been looking after pets in people’s homes in Guelph since 2003.
I was born and raised in this beautiful city of Guelph, Ontario. I’m a Guelphite at heart! My true passion is animals. And they seem to like me too; cats and dogs come to me without hesitation because they sense they can trust me.
I am patient and understanding, and have strong interpersonal skills working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. This includes working with seniors who are hearing and/or visual impaired, or have other special needs.
I have had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people and their pets. I’ve formed a real and lasting bond with every single one of them. The feedback I’ve received from the day I started is that pet owners feel relieved to have found me – as I give their pets safe, loving and dependable care.
My job is the most rewarding experience as your pets always put a smile on my face! Your pets will be happy and loved while you’re on a trip or at work. I truly love pets – from the biggest dog, to the smallest kitten!
I have a diploma in Animal Care from the International Career School in Westmount QC.
Meet My New Assistant: Dawn
Dawn Fairbanks is my new assistant for pet sitting and care!
Over the past 25 years Dawn has been working as a travel agent, where she often heard about the need for worry-free in-home pet care while being away. And I am thrilled to announce that she has decided to join me, so we can offer attention and companionship to more beloved pets.
Dawn’s biggest fan is Jake, a 12 year old standard poodle, who is a best friend and a constant by-her-side companion!

Does the Pet Sitter use a service contract that spells out services performed and fees for doing so?
I have a contract for each of my services outlining what I provide in your home. This gives us a clear understanding of what is expected from each of us.
How much time does the Pet Sitter spend in my home to care for my pets?
If the client has a cat or a dog that I am just checking in on, I will be there for 45 minutes. I will take the dog out for a walk and/or clean the litter box and feed them. I will also spend time playing with them as well. I do not believe in running in and out of homes in a few minutes because this is too disruptive for pets. I like to take my time and have an enjoyable visit. If the client requires overnight care I move into their home. I do not spend more than four hours away when I go out.
Does the Pet Sitter meet with me and my pet(s) in advance? Is there a charge?
I do not charge extra to meet the client or for key pick up and drop off. I meet with clients shortly after they have made a booking so that I can get to know the client and their pets and reduce the separation anxiety the both of them may feel later.
Does the Pet Sitter walk in inclement weather?
Yes, I have the wardrobe and gear to do so.
What is the distance I will travel for pet care?
I service clients in Guelph, Fergus, Rockwood, and Elora.
How will I know what took place during my pet's visit?
I can call the client, or email them free of charge. I will keep notes of what has happened and answer any questions they may have promptly.
